This page contains some important news from the Faustino family in Manila.

From Angelique:

Malu Faustino Valenzuela gave birth to a baby boy, 7 lbs 4oz on October 20th, 1999 at 3pm.  Carlo Miguel shares the same birthday as his Lola Lina.  Congratulations to Bong and Malu!  The mother is well and should be on her way home from the hospital.

From Angelique:

Early Friday morning (Oct 29), between 1 and 2 am, my parent's Valle Verde 2 house burned down.  It is the house I have spent the most time growing up.  Thankfully, they no longer live there anymore, but their tenants just escaped with their lives.  The lady of the house was pregnant.  The house is a total P7 Million loss because my Dad failed to renew the fire insurance as the house was empty for so long (10 months).  They don't know what to do with the place now, and since my Dad is taking a position in Germany for 6 months starting in January, they won't be around to rebuild or whatever.  They don't know exactly what caused the fire.

From Angelique:

While we were visiting my Grandma and Uncle/Aunt in Malaysia, another tragedy struck.  Granny suffered a stroke a few hours before we were about to leave.  She is stable right now, but her left limbs and right side of her face are weak.  She is getting physiotherapy 2x a day, and is getting good care.  It was awful, though, seeing her collapsed on the floor, hardly able to talk or move.

From Tito Joe:

Tito Joe and Tita Angela will be off for Cologne, Germany for six months, Jan to June 2000 as T. Joe will be a visiting professor in International Marketing and Doing Business in Asia at the Universitatsseminar der Wirtschaft, 20 km outside the city of Cologne.  This means they will be about 8-10 hours by train and 1.5 hours by plane from Jolene and Jose in Lisbon.  Even Bart and Angelique will be only five hours away by plane.
